How To… Track Banner Ad Conversions

GoTryTHIS can graph the conversions throughout your site, on banner ads, and on HTML emails. We will be expanding these features in the future, so please send your suggestions.

To track banner ad conversions:

Use a GoTryTHIS link to the banner ad image instead of a direct link, so you can track impressions. (Use .php in the redirect link instead of .gif/.jpg etc.
Make the banner ad link to a GoTryTHIS link to track clicks.
Give both the banner ad image link and the banner ad click destination link the same tag so you can quickly see them side-by-side and see a live graph of conversions.

GoTryTHIS has short links for Twitter, created on twe.to, which has most of the features of the custom keyword redirects of GoTryTHIS.

Method 1:
If you want to use your own domain instead of twe.to, put this into your .htaccess of your short Twitter domain.

RewriteEngine ON
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://twe.to/$1 [R=301,L]

Method 2:
The other, potentially simpler way to do this, is to go into your domain control panel and change your short domain from a hosted domain to one that is domain forwarding or aliased to twe.to. (…)
