This did not just affect your GoTryThis links/folders, it affected your entire account – there was no permission to modify ANY files or folders on the entire domain so I looked a little deeper and this is what the cause was:

We had an interesting ticket, with all the links going to an Adwords site, not owned by the client. It seemed to the client that their ISP was hijacking their 404 pages, which may be the case. (…)

We believe that this only takes place on servers running CGI/FastPHP, CGI, or the suPHP module in Apache. We are setting up test environments so we can duplicate and fix it.

If your links suddenly stopped working and instead started generating error messages, something like this:

Solution: Your domains are out of date by a couple of versions. (…)

If your links don’t work, it is usually because of some setting on your system, which can be corrected.

GoTryTHIS uses your .htaccess file to redirect links that do not exist, which includes all GoTryTHIS links, through GoTryTHIS. (…)

When Rackspace Cloud services had their maintenance a while back, they replaced all files on our site with a maintenance message. This was unexpected behavior to us until it happened. (…)
