We found a bug where cloaked links with capital letters in the redirect URL result in a blank page. (…)
In this ticket, the upgrade and links stopped working and none of the files could be updated.
Here is our response, which may be helpful to someone else:
This did not just affect your GoTryThis links/folders, it affected your entire account – there was no permission to modify ANY files or folders on the entire domain so I looked a little deeper and this is what the cause was:

We had an interesting ticket, with all the links going to an Adwords site, not owned by the client. It seemed to the client that their ISP was hijacking their 404 pages, which may be the case. (…)
We believe that this only takes place on servers running CGI/FastPHP, CGI, or the suPHP module in Apache. We are setting up test environments so we can duplicate and fix it.
If your links suddenly stopped working and instead started generating error messages, something like this:
