How to… Pass link juice
The term, “passing link juice” refers to how much page rank is given to a page from your links, which increases its position in search engines.
In GoTryTHIS, you have two choices:
- A 301 redirect tells the search engines that the redirect link (short link) is a permanent redirection to a destination link that has been moved permanently, and that the link juice should be passed through to the destination link.
- A 302 redirect tells the search engines that the redirect link is temporary and that the link juice should be kept at the redirect link and not passed to the destination link.
To pass the most link juice to the site you are promoting, use keywords in your redirect link that you want the page to be ranked better on, and use a 301 redirect.
