HostGator Installation Instructions

If you are having trouble adding a HostGator domain to your dashboard, please follow the details below for entering FTP and domain details, rather than the instructions they provide to you in their welcome mails.

Take note of the comments for each one.

SetupBOT SCREEN 1
FTP Host: maindomainname.com NOT the ip address; no ‘www.’ no ‘ftp.’
Username: cpaneluser Your main cPanel account name
Password: password cPanel password (not an FTP account)

Physical Path: /public_html/ if this is your MAIN domain
Install Folder: /gotrythis/ Only change if necessary – and MUST be only one folder
Domain Name: maindomainname.com NOT the ip address; no ‘www.’ no ‘ftp.’

Setup Part 6: Uninstalling

Uninstalling Domains From The Dashboard:

If you remove a domain from the dashboard, all the data is deleted from the dashboard, you can no longer add links to that domain, and existing links on that domain stop working.

To uninstall a domain:

  1. Login to your GoTryTHIS dashboard.
  2. Go to the “Management” page.
  3. Click on the “Domains” tab, beside the “Links” tab.
  4. Select the row of the domain you want to remove, turning the row background blue.
  5. Click the “Delete Domain” button above the domain list.
  6. SetupBOT will popup. (…)
