Free upgrade for version 1… when?
With the release of version 1 we promised a free upgrade to version 2 to provide multi-domain support. The version 2 we are releasing is a generation or two beyond that, with many extra, bonus abilities. True to our word, we’re giving it as a free upgrade with free support to thank our clients for putting up with such a long wait while we created and tested this new infrastructure.
GoTryTHIS 2 is still in beta – a very real beta on a gigantic software application with many components. It would have been a nightmare for everyone if we opened up the free upgrade while we were in early beta and had 1000 to 2500 people upgrading at once and requiring support, all while not providing additional income to help us meet our expenses.
By letting people in slowly and giving preference to paid upgrades and new sales, we are able to provide fairly prompt support and eliminate many causes for support. When we do open up free upgrades, there will be a lot less issues coming up and we will have our base expenses being met so we can support you well.
We already have over 300 clients taking advantage of the beta pricing and are now in late beta. With the upcoming promotions, we hope to soon hit 1000 clients, which will cover our base expenses. We’ll start letting people in for the free upgrade shortly after that point, perhaps before – if support is going well.
Some version 1 clients have expressed that they are upset to not be given first access to upgrade for free, being that they are loyal clients. We hope our reasoning now makes sense and that when the time comes to get your free upgrade, you will appreciate having a more stable, easy upgrade, with less chance of issues coming up. We did not want to take chances with your marketing by releasing it too early or in a way we could not have supported!
If you would like to help us get there sooner, there are still discounted spots available for the upgrade with ongoing upgrades. We’d love to have you with us and I’m sure you will benefit greatly from the many things we plan to add in, starting shortly after the release version, which is the free upgrade.

Are previous owners of GTT1 BH that want to test Version 2 first as a free upgrade, and then decide to join as a subscription member going to pay more on a monthly subscription than if we upgrade now?
It appears we are being held back from testing Version 2 and are going to have to pay a higher monthly fee if we choose to wait to receive our “to be released” free upgrade to GTT2 and then we decide to join the subscription for future upgrades. Is this the case?

Hi.
Yes, we are holding back free upgrades until we are further along in the beta, meaning less support will be required, and more income will have come in to allow us to provide support.
We haven’t launched yet, but are taking sales in beta. The beta users have been putting up with a lot more updates and sometimes nasty issues coming up earlier on in the beta, hence the heavy discount for early beta users.
I gave upgrading users the first opportunity to help us through this, and the vast majority decided to wait until the free version was released. That’s fine, but it forced us to open up those sales to new users to get enough recurring income to get through the beta, for which we received a number of nasty emails from clients waiting for the free upgrade.
I know…. it has been a long wait.
So, will we offer the same $14.95 price to upgrading users once those spots are gone? Maybe. I’ve got some thoughts brewing. I’ll let you know when I’ve got a plan.
