FILLED: Please help stress test
Update: Monday December 8th, 3:49PM EST
Please now ignore my previous e-mail looking for people to help test. Enough people have already responded. Thank you everyone!
Soon, we’ll let you know all the results of the tests. Until then I can tell you this: In version 1, we had some users who had problems due to having more clicks than the database can handle. Due to a lot of optimizing and testing, the new version appears to be able to handle a sustained rate of over a million clicks per day, and still load and run very fast!
I suspect we’ll eventually improve on even that.
Thank you,
John.
no problemo John, just shot off an email.

I missed out! Can’t believe how fast this went. Have been waiting a long time to get hold of GTT – hope this means a new release is coming soon!
Best wishes
Steve

You didn’t miss out on anything Steve. People just opened up a blank page for 24-48 hours, which runs scripts to simulate clicks from real people.
Yes, a release is coming soon… relatively speaking.

GTT was highly recommended to me months ago. Then I checked and found out it was no longer available. Then I get an email it is coming, I held off…
Then I get another email, it is still coming. Finally I see this today and I wonder, when and what will it be and what will it have that is different from what I can get today. I’m tired of waiting, since you can’t tell us when it is being released and what products of functions it will have you are not creating consumer confidence by any means.
I think I’ll look at other options. I’ve waited long enough..

Hi Tap.
Glad it was recommended to you, and sorry that the delay is annoying you. It’s been a challenge all around. Clearly we are close to launching, and we’re taking things very seriously to make sure things work correctly before doing so. I’m fairly confident about when the launch is coming, but am not going to announce it until everything is done and we’re ready, due to false starts before.
I do suspect we’ll start letting select real clients test it in two weeks, which will generate realistic looking screen shots and that’s when I’ll start talking about what it does and where we’re going with it.
Thanks,
John.

One word: Budget. Later, we’ll look at what other languages it makes sense to support and adjust the software and site to match.
